INDOOR GARDEN
RETAIL CARE & HANDLING INSTRUCTIONS An Indoor Garden is a collection of live plants grown in a single container.
With proper care,
the plants in the container will eventually grow large, requiring a transplant
into their own
separate container. In time, a small Indoor Garden can grow into a collection
of beautiful
household tropical plants.
Indoor Garden plants do well in diffused light with moderately moist
soil, with average home
temperatures between 55-80° F (13-27° C). Be careful not to over
water the plants as the
containers do not allow for drainage. When in doubt, determine the need
by simply feeling
the soil; cool and moist soil indicates a proper amount of water. The
rate of growth is also
dependant upon the amount of light received; the less light received,
the slower the rate
of growth. However, be careful not to place the Indoor Garden in direct
sunlight.
For healthier growth, a balanced fertilizer can be added to the Indoor
Garden soil on a
monthly basis, (see fertilizer package instructions for appropriate mixing
ratio). With proper
fertilizing, the plants will remain lush and green. Tip: yellowing leaves
are an indication of
either a lack of nutrients or inappropriate watering (too much or not
enough).
CARE
Due to the fragile nature of Indoor Garden containers and their freshly
potted plants, the
boxes they are shipped in must be handled with care and are not to be
tipped or tossed.
When your Indoor Gardens arrive:
- Unbox immediately.
- No immediate watering should be necessary. However, it’s
always wise to confirm this by
simply touching the soil as indicated in the above care instructions.
Three or four days
after arrival, water content should be checked daily.
- Display the product appropriately so that any decorative
features of the container and/or
flowering items are displayed facing forward.
- If any flowering items have reached the end of their blooming
stage, simply remove that
plant from the container and allow the Indoor Garden to continue
growing as a tropical
arrangement. You will likely need to replace that plant or
re-arrange the remaining foliage
for aesthetic purposes
